The Girls Just Want to Have Fundamental Rights Fund was launched by Cyndi Lauper as a donor-advised fund at the Tides Foundation to support efforts that advance women?s and girl's rights and health. The Fund conducts various fundraising efforts and the proceeds are granted to organizations that are having a positive impact on the lives of all women and girls.

Continued efforts to restrict reproductive freedom in America and around the globe have inspired Cyndi to release a third edition of a ?Girls Just Want To Have Fundamental Rights? t-shirt, with all proceeds going to the fund. Cyndi designed the newest t-shirt with the support of her friend Lisa Glines. Lauper first released a version of this t-shirt in 2017 when the message of ?Girls Just Want To Have Fundamental Rights? was used widely on signs at the Women?s March, which raised over $250,000 for Planned Parenthood and other charities. The second version was released after Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022 and raised $150,000 for a wide array of organizations ensuring access to safe and legal abortion and advocating for reproductive freedom.

?I never thought I would see the day that a fundamental civil right for half of the population would be taken away in this country. It is more important than ever that organizations advancing women?s rights and outreach programs ensuring access to safe and legal abortion, reproductive health, and prenatal care have the financial resources they need to do their life saving work.
