Habitat for Humanity Texas is a nonprofit leader who delivers local impact and is uniquely positioned to address Texas? housing crisis. For forty-three years, Habitat has helped those who cannot afford safe and decent housing and has addressed the systemic issues of these problems. Currently, the scope of the housing crisis is vast. 48% of Texans are cost burdened, meaning they spend more than 30% of income on housing and utilities (TDHCA Report 2019). However, Habitat Texas has the unmatched ability to address this need by supporting 70 local branches (known as affiliates) across the state of Texas. In 2019, 1,478 Texas families were served. Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat Texas has partnered with families to build and improve places they call home.
