Our Why: After miscarrying our twin boys, I knew that our soon to be baby Olivia was just the light we desperately needed. There were minor complications along the pregnancy but nothing that warned us of what was to come.

Within the first 24hrs of Olivia's birth, she was admitted to NICU. Shortly after we learned of her HIE (hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy) diagnosis, and soon to follow an epilepsy, global developmental delay, severe hypotonia, and CVI (cortical vision impairment) diagnosis. We had a crash course into parenthood and medical life. As time progressed, Olivia developed LGS (lennox-gastaut syndrome). Despite the complications, Olivia taught us how to view the world in a different light. We learned the importance of words such as inclusion, accessibility, and awareness.

Through experiencing many medical emergencies, we have gained the knowledge of what living day by day to the fullest means. This world has come a long way, but we are hopeful that we can continue to help improve it and advocate for what's needed. We are confident you too will Liv Life just as Olivia does!
