Team Survive: Saving Lives and Livelihoods

You survived 2020. You homeschooled your kids. You're an essential worker. You isolated for months on end. You ate take out on Thanksgiving. You might have lost more than you expected. But you made it. Commemorate your survival while supporting the survival of others.
We combine the power of storytelling, technology, and community to inspire action for a healthier, more sustainable, and just world. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, PCI Media has launched Team Survive to tackle crisis and emergency communication. COVID-19 and Health Literacy  Through our popular Mozambican radio drama,  Ouro Negro, PCI Media broadcasts critical COVID-19 information to over 2 million listeners. By building health literacy around COVID-19, individuals and communities are able to make informed choices. https://www.pcimedia.org/programs/public-health/   
COVID-19 and Women’s Health in Eastern and Southern Africa Our "Let's Talk!" campaign seeks to end teen pregnancy and gender-based violence in 21 countries in Eastern and Southern Africa. The pandemic lockdowns have halted the public dialogues that the campaign relied on while gender-based violence and teen pregnancy have increased globally. In response, PCI Media has shifted its “Let’s Talk” campaign to “Let’s Talk at Home.”  To-date, “Let’s Talk!” has launched in 10 countries and has 10,000 social media followers.  Learn more: https://bit.ly/36agEX4   
COVID-19 and Food Security PCI Media and Catholic Relief Services have partnered to address urgent issues of food insecurity in the wake of COVID-19. Ten local radio partners have joined the effort to reach agricultural workers in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala. Our work impacts roughly 2.2 million people.
