The Richmond Animal Care & Control Foundation (RACCF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is committed to championing the success of Richmond Animal Care & Control (RACC). As the sole open-admission animal shelter in the City, RACC tirelessly tends to the needs of over 3,000 animals annually, requiring urgent care. RACCF works hand in hand with RACC, diligently contributing to the expenses of vital emergency care, while simultaneously elevating marketing and outreach initiatives through strategic fundraising and volunteer coordination. United in their passion for saving lives, RACC and RACCF are thrilled to unveil a tapestry of heartwarming stories, showcasing unwavering compassion for our City's most vulnerable animals.

About the Tommie Fund:

RACCF created the Tommie Fund to assist with covering the costs of emergency medical care for animals in need at municipal animal shelters and public animal control agencies across Virginia. In February 2019, a dog named Tommie changed our lives. Tommie, a brindle Pit Bull mix, was doused with lighter fluid, tied to a fence, and set on fire. The story of our tremendous efforts to save him spread across the world and prompted a landslide of donations, well-wishes, kindness, and love. Sadly, we were unable to save Tommie?s life, but because of your incredible support, we will be able to save countless other animals in need.
