WHAT DO WE DO?

Host in-person and virtual events to share knowledge and foster community. We?ve participated in the Brooklyn Book Festival, the L.A. Times Festival of Books, ALA, National Council of English Teachers, the Latina Writers Conference, the Latinx Storytellers Conference, and more!

Provide programs:

  1. The Writers Mentorship Program: Pairs an emerging writer with established authors/mentors. Mentors have included Isabel Ca?as, Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodr?guez, Daniel Jos? Older, Zoraida C?rdova, and John Paul Brammer.
  2. Work-in-Progress Fellowship Program: Pairs an emerging writer with an editor to polish their manuscript and advise on obtaining a book deal. Previous fellows include Ananda Lima, who published her debut story collection Craft: Stories I Wrote for the Devil with Tor/Macmillan and Sarah Marie Jette, whose middle grade novel Our Fair Share will be published by Holt/Macmillan in May 2026.
  3. Internship Program: Our interns have gone on to acquire full-time jobs at big five houses, indie houses, and literary agencies.
  4. Publishing Fellowships: Pairs those seeking a career in publishing with publishing professionals. Former fellow Cloud Delfina Cardona co-founded Infrarealista, a literary nonprofit publishing Texan voices and published The Past Is a Jean Jacket (Hub City Press, Oct 2025).

Maintain resource lists of Latinx editors, agents, designers, audiobook narrators, and Latinx-owned bookstores.

Inform and engage the Latine/x community via our blog posts and social media accounts. We publish book reviews, Q&As, listicles, monthly book releases, industry opportunities, upcoming industry-wide events, and more!
