The Middle Way Initiative (MWI) is the educational non-profit founded by Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel with a focus on the Middle Way teachings in the Buddhist tradition. Elizabeth believes these teachings are accessible to everyone and are a source of "Timeless Wisdom To Remedy Extreme Thinking". Elizabeth Mattis Namgyel has studied and practiced the Buddhadharma for over forty years under the guidance of her root teacher, Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche. She is a teacher and Retreat Master in Mangala Shri Bhuti. Elizabeth is the author of two books, The Power of an Open Question and The Logic of Faith.  

Elizabeth founded the educational nonprofit, The Middle Way Initiative (MWI) which focuses on engagement with the Buddha?s Middle Way teachings. Through MWI, Elizabeth offers programs including conversations with other teachers and guests, and the Open Question Podcast. With Anam Thubten, she is a founding member and teacher in the Wilderness Dharma Movement.
