Von Kooi Family Farms is a small, organic family-owned California farm built from the ground up in Concow, Butte County. For more than 15 years, they poured everything they had into restoring the land, building a regenerative farm, and creating a sustainable future for their family.

In 2021, Von Kooi Family Farms became a vertically integrated hemp company and set out to serve folks who realized that pharmaceutical companies were often doing more harm than good, and that effective medicine can arrive right out of a seed. 

After becoming fully licensed and compliant, they invested heavily in developing a farm-to-can cannabinoid beverage made from their own organically grown hemp, called Creek Water Botanicals. Just as their product reached market and distribution across their state and beyond, the hemp product industry in California was shut down overnight under Gov. Newsom?s ?emergency regulation? ? which was essentially just a stop-all on hemp products without any real solutions proposed.

(It was easy to see where the incentive came from for this ?emergency regulation? when Big Pharma and Big Alcohol sectors have taken the hardest hits from the exponential growth of the hemp industry.)

So with no warning and no time to pivot, their products were pulled from shelves and their income stopped immediately ? wiping out everything they had worked to build over many years.

This campaign is our way of sharing their story, supporting farmers, and rallying against plutocracy.

When our products were pulled from shelves and our website sales shut off, we received an outpouring of support and messages of disbelief. We set out to make peoples? lives better with our medicinal products and it?s clear that we succeeded with that endeavor. We were humbled by how many people our products had impacted and we are still navigating the path forward to continue to serve those marginalized for using cannabinoids as medicine.
