About this campaign
This shirt was created to celebrate the connection between dogs and surfing that our organization was founded on. We hope you enjoy wearing it!
Our rescue center takes care of many dogs that require special medical treatments and medications. We work tirelessly to provide the mutts we rescue with the medical care and support they need but treatments such as chemotherapy, surgeries, and antibiotics as well as tests for diseases are very expensive.

Meet Neena
Neena is a two-year-old meximutt currently living at our Rescue Center in Zihuatanejo who was found abandoned on the local mercado in Zihuatanejo. She had survived by being fed by the butcher and had at least one litter of puppies. Neena had ehrlichia and just recently completed seven weeks of chemotherapy treatment for TVT (also known as Transmissible Venereal Tumor or Sticker's Sarcoma).

Meet Cuca
Cuca was seen on the side of a highway with no hair and scabs all over her body. It took five weeks for Surfers for Strays to discover her hiding place and build enough trust to approach her and eventually get her into the crate. She had two tick-borne diseases and mange. Her teeth were broken and worn down from years of foraging through trash to find food. To treat her mange she was bathed with medicated shampoos for a month. She also received doxycycline to treat her ehrlichia and anaplasma. With the help of vitamin supplements and a healthy diet she regained her strength and is now at a healthy weight. Cuca received X-rays and dental work that included the extraction of four inferior incisors, cleaning and repair of three additional teeth.

Meet Freedom
Freedom was just skin and bones when she was found on the side of the highway. She is one of the only dogs that has ever jumped right into our Surfmobile. It took several months for her to recover after being emaciated. After seven treatments (costing $385 total) of Vinicristine Chemotherapy to treat the TVT, she has recovered and is available for adoption.
