Every shirt purchase helps make a local independent bookstore more sustainable for the long run!

The Curious Cat Bookshop was opened in its current space in September 2023, after about six months of running as a pop-up shop, by owner Stacy Whitman, who is also a children's book publisher and editor. Stacy's four curious cats were the inspiration for the name of the store--we should always be just as curious in our reading pursuits!

Starting any business takes a lot of up-front capital, and a bookstore tends to require even more. Stacy has put in her savings, and the business has received a grant from the Town, but she's been working to close a working capital gap of about $30,000 to ensure that her business plan succeeds and that the bookstore is here in Winsted for years to come. This t-shirt campaign is just one of many avenues she's working on (including business loans and grants)--and it's definitely the most fun! A portion of every sale goes directly to the store, and you get to show off your love of cats, books, and our store. Thank you for your support!
