The landmark Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is the most important law protecting the rights of people with disabilities. This summer we celebrated 36 years of the ADA but there is still so far to go to remove barriers and stop unfair treatment of people with disabilities. This year's theme "The World Works Better With Us" not only highlights the contributions to the world by the disability community, but it also emphasizes that communities, schools, and workplaces function more effectively when people with disabilities are fully integrated and supported.
