In 1969, seven young African American men made a courageous decision that would leave a lasting mark on our community. As students at Belmont Abbey College, they stood up and protested against the administration after their concerns went unheard. Their actions were not just about themselves?they were about dignity, fairness, and the right to be heard.
For decades, their story has remained largely unknown.
Now, Noel & Noah Productions, a nonprofit based in Gastonia, North Carolina, is bringing this powerful story to life through the upcoming feature film ?The Abbey Boys.?
This film will highlight the voices of the young men who took a stand, the tensions of the late 1960s, and the ongoing journey toward understanding and reconciliation. Through firsthand accounts and historical storytelling, the project aims to educate our community, preserve local history, and inspire new generations to stand up for justice.
But independent films are powered by community support.
That?s where you come in.
To help fund the production of The Abbey Boys, we are launching a T-shirt fundraising campaign. Every shirt purchased directly supports the development and production of this important film?covering costs such as research, filming locations, equipment, and providing opportunities for local actors and filmmakers.
When you wear this shirt, you?re not just supporting a film.
You?re helping preserve a piece of history.
You?re amplifying voices that deserve to be heard.
And you?re showing that our community believes in telling stories that matter.
Wear the story. Support the film. Be part of the legacy.
