Sarah was diagnosed with the rare neuromuscular disorder, Late Onset Tay Sachs (LOTS) in 2013. Three years later, Emily was diagnosed with the same disorder and stumped doctors since they both have it. LOTS is a rare genetic disease mainly causing weakness in the quadriceps and triceps. There are many symptoms including: muscle weakness, clumsiness and loss of coordination, tremors and muscle spasms, loss of ability to walk and more. There is currently no cure for LOTS, but there are treatments to try to manage their symptoms.
Proceeds from these t-shirts will be going towards medical bills and/or the purchase of a Vela Independence Chair for Emily.
