Topwind Ranch is a family owned and operated facility, run by Amanda and Nick Backlund located in southern Oklahoma. Topwind specializes and takes pride in providing their clients with quality all-around horses and developing relationships that create customers for life. 

Formally established in 2019, Topwind has been a dream in the making, since as early as? well forever. While neither Amanda nor Nick came from equine families, they can?t think of a time horses were not on their minds. Both started at a young age taking lessons, attending clinics, and striving for growth. Owning their own horses and trying to get as much knowledge from anyone who would share it. Growing up in a northern state it just wasn?t as easy to ride year around and snow and ice were not going to slow them down. As a true leap of faith, and maybe a statement to their determination, they moved across country to open Topwind Ranch. 

Topwind was built from the ground up, with hard work, commitment, and passion. Starting as riding a few outside horses on nights and weekends it quickly grew into the program it is today. At their facility they offer colt starting, training, sales prep, consignment sales, marketing services and enjoy giving lessons to a variety of different levels of riders. Amanda loves starting young rider?s careers, and teaching aspiring trainers how to colt start while Nick enjoys teaching ground and sled roping lessons. They both also compete in Team Roping and Ranch Versatility as well as other western events including; ranch rodeos, team sorting, team penning, trail riding, obstacle challenges, cowboy races etc. 

So whether you?ve been around horses since you could walk or have a dream to be a part of the equine industry just like Amanda and Nick first did, Topwind is the place for you to reach your goals, no matter how big or small. All it takes is a little grit and a lot of passion.
