Before we created Trail Breaker Wellness Services as it's own entity, we started providing wellness services for the humans of vet med from the veterinary practice, Trail Breaker Veterinary Services. We believe passionately in One Health. We love serving families in remote Alaska and enjoy the beauty and challenge of traveling through this stunning state. Working in these wild places highlights how all our health is intimately connected - the domestic and wild animals we love, human and animal families living together, and the human practitioners who care for animals. Veterinary professionals have high burnout rates and poor mental wellness and many do not last long in the profession, despite often still loving it. Our non-profit aims to help the humans in animal care take better care of themselves and thrive within their own lives and this important work. The Trail Breaker logo is a running sled dog (actually she is based off a retired sled dog) with the mountains and rivers running through her as well as the big dipper in the sky - which is the Alaska state flag. The design on the back incorporates as many things in Alaska that we love - the wildlife, the landscapes, the weather and the means of transport we use to reach our remote communities.
