Patriarchy is so deeply embedded in society that it?s like the air we breathe?ever-present and often unnoticed. While patriarchy is defined by the status of women, it transcends all hierarchies, making it the core system of inequality. Through studying racial equity, I?ve concluded that no equity issue can be fully addressed until humanity unlearns patriarchy. Anthropologists suggest patriarchy was not always part of human culture, proving it is not the natural order. Even the most successful women continue to fight against it daily, as reflected in their books and songs.

To dismantle patriarchy, we must unlearn it. Unlearning requires actively questioning beliefs, recognizing unconscious assumptions, and letting go of outdated ideas. Unlearning patriarchy means requiring equity in every interaction and advocating for fairness in all aspects of life.
