The Marine Mammal Stranding Center celebrated the 45th anniversary of our founding on March of 2023. Formed in 1978, MMSC is the only authorized rescue, rehabilitation, and release facility for marine mammals and the authorized first responders for sea turtle strandings & disentanglements in the State of New Jersey. The MMSC is a 501 (c) (3) private nonprofit organization. Our life-saving work is funded by private donations from the public, fundraisers, grants, and retail gift shop sales.
