FOHA continues to be unique in the quality and extent of veterinary care it provides, training in basic manners and behavior modification when necessary, its lifetime return policy for all animals adopted, and the size and quality of its facilities, onsite staff, and volunteers. FOHA actively works to find dogs and cats that are at the greatest risk in partner shelters including heart worm positive dogs, senior dogs, and FIV+ cats. FOHA covers all the medical bills to make sure these animals are healthy and thriving prior to adoption.
- We have three exercise areas, pools for the dogs in summer, and forty acres of wooded trails for walking the dogs.
- Two special ?villages?, where each dog resident has their own furnished, heated and air-conditioned house with a doggy door for them to access large front and back yards as they would like. The Fred Sanders Memorial Village houses our elderly and longer-term resident dogs. Josh?s Footprint is set in a quieter wooded area of the campus to provide a respite for dogs that are experiencing greater kennel stress than others.
- Unique catteries, including one FIV+ Cats. These catteries offer indoor and screened-in porch access for sunning. Cats are free to roam around furnished rooms. Currently, 30 cats can be housed in the catteries.
