The Beaver County Humane Society has been saving animals for over 70 years now. Although we continue to shelter the homeless, heal the injured, and love the abandoned, one of our biggest battles yet has been fighting old stereotypes that surround animal shelters.

Many people out in the community are still weary of us, distrustful, and carry with them the old stereotypes of "dog pounds" or "kill shelters." The truth is, we've come a long way in the shelter world; we educate ourselves, network with other rescues, create and implement new programs, all the while still fighting to save as many animals as we can. The hardest battle to fight however, is perception. We're hoping to change that, but can only succeed with your help!
