Bread for the City started serving DC residents living in poverty in 1974 in a cramped church basement on 14th St NW. 50 years later, we have evolved to meet the needs of our community. We now operate two centers in the city, including a new 28,000 sq ft state-of-the-art facility in Anacostia named after former First Lady Michelle Obama. Our centers serve as one-stop shops where our DC neighbors in need can get food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. All proceeds from this commemorative merchandise line go directly to our work providing direct services and advocating for our DC neighbors in need. Thank you for your support.?
