This design was created from truth: Black History isn't separate from American History -- it is American History.

"Black History is Celebrated Here" features a piece I formerly worked on of Carter G. Woodson as part of my "Black Diamonds of West Virginia collection." This piece is a commitment to honoring the stories and brilliance that have shaped this state and this country -- especially those that have been overlooked or erased. This piece and this campaign center remembrance, education, and pride in bringing historical legacy into everyday spaces through wearable art.

This is inspired by Appalachian roots, cultural storytelling, and the belief that history lives wherever we choose to acknowledge it -- but we have to acknowledge it. This design invites conversation, and like much of the feedback I receive after a design, I hope it inspires connection.

Whether you're shopping at community events, classrooms, libraries, protests, or just going about your daily life, this piece will make it clear: celebration and recognition of Black history are American History. Black History is West Virginia history, and it was born here.
