You can make a global impact during this year's Erdheim-Chester Disease (ECD) Awareness Week (or any time!) by spreading awareness and garnering support for ECD families around the world. 

Medical professionals and advocates do all they can for these patients to get the treatment they need. But first, a patient has to be diagnosed correctly, something that is very difficult to accomplish with such a complex, little-known disease.  This ultra-rare blood cancer can affect any combination of organs, and the combination can differ with each patient affected. Signs of the disease can begin to wreak havoc years before a diagnosis is found. Early diagnosis and treatment are extremely vital for these patients, making awareness absolutely crucial to favorable outcomes. 

The ECD Global Alliance is the only patient advocacy group solely dedicated to Erdheim-Chester families. It is their mission to provide support to those affected by the disease, educate the medical community and facilitate information sharing for research, and advocate for and financially support research programs related to Erdheim-Chester Disease.
