Mom has been diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma, primary to the central nervous system, meaning it is only in her brain and nowhere else in her body.
She will begin treatment this week. Each round will require an inpatient hospital stay and will repeat every 2?3 weeks for a total of 4?6 treatments. Depending on how she responds, there may be consolidation radiation later. Once she is in remission, the plan is for her to undergo an autologous stem cell transplant using her own cells at UW-Madison.
This journey has been terrifying, exhausting, and emotional in ways we never imagined. There have been days full of tears, unanswered questions, and moments where fear felt overwhelming. But we are choosing to hold onto faith ? faith in God, faith in her doctors, and faith in our mom?s incredible strength.
