The right to vote for nonwhite Americans and women. The right to public education for all children. The right to strike to protest unfair working conditions. The right to live.
Some of the hardest battles for our freedoms were against our own government. The people who fought for them usually did not take up arms, but took to the streets, took up a pen to write, and took their convictions to the halls of power to change hearts and minds.
Wear this shirt to honor the people who fought?and sometimes died?for the rights we possess today, and wear it to remind everyone that we all have a responsibility to defend those rights today, and continue to fight for the generations after us.
