In 1864, Union General William Tecumseh Sherman marched his army to the sea, destroying the infrastructure that kept the brutal system of the Confederacy alive. His troops tore up Southern railroads and bent the tracks into what became known as ?Sherman?s neckties.? The point was simple: break the machinery that makes oppression possible. We're harnessing that spirit with this fundraiser.
All proceeds from this fundraiser go to the National Immigration Law Center, which provides legal defense and advocacy for immigrants under attack, and works with members of Congress to pass humane and sane immigration policies. It's a small step in breaking the machinery of xenophobia in America.
