About this campaign
As we mark Rare Disease Day on February 29th, let's unite to support Gabe and the millions of individuals living with rare diseases. Their courage is inspiring, and the fight continues every day. We honor those who have lost their battle, and together, we can help make a difference.
This year, all proceeds will go to Grant's Giants, an incredible non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing financial support to families affected by pediatric Pompe disease. Their efforts extend to advancing research and advocating for newborn screenings, so future generations can get the life-saving treatment they deserve from day one.
Gabe's journey, while challenging, has been shaped by the incredible treatments he's received. Biweekly infusions at CHOP and care from numerous specialists have helped him lead a vibrant life, but not all families have access to such resources. The financial burden of travel, treatments, and doctor?s appointments can be overwhelming, especially for those living far from medical centers.
We know how crucial research is to advancing the treatment for rare diseases like Pompe. Thanks to innovations like Nexviazyme, Gabe has seen significant improvements in his endurance and energy. However, this progress wouldn't have been possible without ongoing research and the support of the community.
Gabe's experience has shown us how important early diagnosis is. Had Pompe Disease been included in Delaware?s Newborn Screening list when Gabe was born, his early treatment could have prevented some of the complications he faces today. Thanks to the tireless work of advocates like Grant's Giants, Pompe Disease is now part of Delaware's screening, but many states still lag behind. It?s vital that we continue pushing for universal newborn screenings, so no other child has to face the same struggles Gabe has.
Together, we can make a difference. Every donation counts, and your support means the world to families like ours. In order to have the shirts ready in time for National Pompe Day, April 15th, orders will close on March 13th! Don't miss out on this chance to support a great cause and raise awareness. Every donation counts, and your support means the world to families like ours. Let?s keep fighting for those who need it most and advocate for change that will save lives.
