Did you know that a single family of barn owls can consume approximately 1,000 to 4,000 rodents a year? These spectacular nighttime hunters play a crucial role in maintaining rodent populations, especially around farmlands and agricultural habitats. Unfortunately, these beautiful raptors are declining rapidly due to habitat loss and pesticide use (rodenticides). We are collaborating with a local graduate student to conduct a study on local barn owl populations in East TN. Proceeds from shirt purchases help support the study and our Farmland Raptor Project initiative.
