I hope you are doing well! My name is Olivia Sauer, and I am currently a senior at Foley High School. This year has been crazy busy with graduation just around the corner! I am really looking forward to what God has in store for me these next coming years and I?ve been led to go on one last mission trip before I leave for college. I?m writing to share an exciting opportunity me and my church have that I am preparing for. From June 15-20, I will be traveling on a mission trip through the New York School of Urban Ministry (NYSUM). Since 1984, NYSUM has equipped thousands of churches, colleges, and student groups with hands-on ministry experiences located right in New York City. Their mission includes serving through homeless outreach, children?s programs, and evangelistic ministry in diverse communities. During this week, our team will be staying at their renovated hospital campus in Queens and will take part in various service projects aimed at meeting real needs and sharing care with people across the city. I?m really excited for this opportunity to grow, serve, and step outside my comfort zone to encounter new people, bringing them closer to Jesus and grow deeper in my own faith as well! To participate in this trip, I need to raise 1,700 dollars and pay by three payment increments. The first payment of 500 dollars is due by February 13th, and the last is due on May 15th. I would be incredibly grateful for your support-whether through prayer, encouragement, or a financial contribution. Any amount is truly appreciated!
This verse relates to our missions trip and traveling to New York for evangelistic outreach to the homeless because it reflects the call to go intentionally into challenging places with compassion and purpose. By stepping out in faith to serve, encourage, and share hope with those experiencing hardship, the trip helps create a clear and loving path toward healing, dignity, and spiritual restoration for people who may feel overlooked or wounded.
