Hello!

My name is Kathryn Patterson, and I am a middle school teacher in North Carolina. I have an opportunity to travel to Poland and Germany in June of this year to learn more about the Holocaust. This experience will allow me to gain knowledge and experiences to bring back to my students.

In November of 2023, I was fortunate to travel to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This started my journey of Holocaust education. After hearing from survivors, they told me, "Your job is to tell my story and not let me be forgotten."

Then, in the Spring of 2024, my school was able to host the Anne Frank Exhibit through the University of South Carolina. This was an invaluable experience for my students to learn and teach others about the Holocaust. This event brought students from many schools and community members together.

This trip will allow me to continue this journey of Holocaust education and bring it to my students.
