As a Miss Michigan contestant, I am encouraged to raise money for the American Heart Association as well as scholarships that support young women like me. My goal is to raise $300. I created this design with a few things in mind- I wanted to capture my service initiative, Bloom Where You Are Planted, add an inspiring and nature-related quote, and of course sprinkle in the pageant glam with tiaras. It just so happened that the quote I found is from none other than Virginia Woolf, one of the women I highlight in my talent presentation! All of the animals in my art are Michigan native species, with the doe as the center symbolizing strength and gentleness.
