Federally Endangered Leavenworthia crassa (Fleshy Fruit Gladecress) is endemic to limestone glades in North Alabamas Moulton Valley. This plant can only be found in two counties in the world with an estimated eight populations left. Its main threat is habitat loss and currently none of the existing populations are being managed in a way that promotes this species. Coincidentally our last campaign for Dalia foliosa was in the exact same situation with only eight populations in the state of Alabama (L. crassa has 8 populations in the world) and now we are managing seven of those eight population and have purchased one of the populations! Additionally there are other globally rare plant species growing with L. crassa that will also greatly benefit from this campaign!
