The LILA Endowment Fund was launched in 2019 with the 40th anniversary gala. With the 45th anniversary gala coming up, we're hoping to grow the Fund with the proceeds of the gala and from commemorative gear like this.
Proceeds will benefit the LILA Endowment Fund. An endowment fund is an investment fund that holds its principal in perpetuity and pays out a portion of its earnings each year to support, for example, campus operations and programs. Endowment investments have dual goals: to grow the principal and to generate income.
Of course, as LILA?s Endowment Fund is relatively new, we are still building to a point where funds can be withdrawn. As LILA's endowment grows with future donations, we hope it will become a significant source of annual income for LILA. We are taking the first steps!
