My name is Christine, and my 18 year partner, Joost, is in the final days of an incredibly brave battle with a rare and aggressive cancer called Merkel Cell Carcinoma. After doing everything we could and fighting alongside him, we are now facing the heartbreaking reality that he only has a short time left with us.
Joost has always been so much more than his illness. He was a devoted Ski Patroller who truly lived for the ski hill ? early mornings on fresh snow, long days helping others stay safe, and the quiet joy of being in the mountains he loved so much. The slopes were his happy place, and he poured his heart into serving others there.
As we prepare for his passing, we are also facing the financial burden of funeral and end-of-life expenses. I have created this ?Living for the Ski Hill? long sleeve t-shirt in Joost?s honor. Each shirt is $34.99 (plus tax), and all proceeds from this campaign will go directly toward:
- Funeral and memorial service costs
- Burial/cremation and related arrangements
- Other essential end-of-life expenses
By purchasing a shirt or making a donation, you are helping us give Joost the dignified farewell he deserves, while also keeping his spirit and legacy alive. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference and is deeply appreciated.
If you are unable to give, simply sharing this campaign with others is an incredible help.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting Joost, honoring his life on the ski hill, and helping our family through this unimaginably difficult time.
? Christine
