Maddy?s Cat Rescue is a 501c3 Nonprofit Cat Rescue in Cambridge, OH! 

Our mission is to help unwanted cats and kittens, to help educate the public on cat welfare, and why it is so important to spay and neuter! 

Maddy?s Cat Rescue became a nonprofit in 2022; Maddy has been rescuing and saving cats for a few years- primarily helping sick, injured, malnourished, young kittens. Maddy has a passion for special needs kittens, taking in many that need amputations or eyes removed.

Maddy and Paige have helped the community by doing TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) to help the cat population from growing. TNR consists of trapping the cats, having them fixed and vetted, and releasing them back to where they live.

TNR is not an easy task, it takes a LOT of funding, and a LOT of time and energy. You must also have a good standing relationship with a local vet clinic, and communicate with them on what you are planning to do. TNR requires LOTS of live traps, that are also very expensive. When you are starting to TNR at any colony, especially during the peak season for TNR/Kitten Season (April-October), you must almost always be prepared to take on whatever kittens you may find at that colony.

There is not currently anyone else in Guernsey County that is actively doing TNR for the community. We receive many TNR requests for our area, and help out where and when we can, but the funding is just currently not there for us to help everyone!

As the rescue grows and evolves their goals for the rescue are to have a stand alone building to be able to take in even more cats, have volunteers, get the community more involved and hopefully do a spay and neuter clinic as a more affordable one is very needed in Guernsey county. This will only be possible with the help of our community! In 2023, Maddy?s Cat Rescue saved, helped, and adopted out 163 cats and kittens, and as of June 2024 we have helped over 100.

The average cost of one cat that comes into Maddy?s Cat Rescue is about $450! That is not including any extra care that may be needed.
