Your purchase supports my fundraising for a world without Parkinson's. This shirt is truly one of a kind, designed by my sister, Michele. She created the fox and tulip logo in 70's-style colors to honor the work of both the Parkinson's Foundation and Michael J. Fox Foundation. Her original design was painted with watercolors to capture the flow and movement of running.

This June, Grandma's Marathon and I have one big thing in common - we both turn 50! I'm running into the next decade not just to celebrate a milestone birthday but also in memory of my mom to raise funds and awareness with the Parkinson's Champions.

My mom was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2019, three short years after retiring from her lifelong career as a teacher. This disease robbed her of so many of the plans she had with my father and our family for their retirement years. In the spring of 2021, her memory and mobility began taking sharp declines. She died from Parkinson's in May 2024.

My mom loved teaching - she knew she wanted to be a teacher when she was 7 years old! She got so much joy from being a grandma, spending time with family - I have great memories of roasting s'mores over backyard fires, seeing fireworks together, taking her to see Neil Diamond and watching her sing along to every song. She had a full life and still had so much more to give.

No one should have their lives cut short by Parkinson's; no family should have to watch their loved one change and lose so much.  

The Parkinson's Foundation makes life better for people living with Parkinson's disease by improving care and advancing research toward a cure.
