In 2022, a local dog rescuer named Maryam rescued more than 70 dogs in a short span of time so they wouldn't be shot. She had them living in her home.
So, in the beginning of January 2023, we set up the first of our farms for 43 dogs to live in. We have rehomed nearly all of those dogs. But our rescue was kicked out of the farm, and Maryam is still left with close to 30 dogs to this day.
We are in the final prep stages of sending seven of those 30 dogs to the USA at the end of this month, but she will still be left with more than 20 dogs.
Here is the desperate plea - Maryam has been in trouble with the courts over keeping that many dogs in her home for over a year, and yesterday her appeal was finally rejected.
That means she needs to remove the dogs imminently or the authorities will come and ?evict? the dogs (and, unfortunately, we all know what that means).
This exact thing has happened to another Omani gentleman and his rescue wadi dogs who tragically all lost their lives so we know it?s not an empty threat.
We need money to get the dogs vetted so we can get them out of Oman one by one (and would be desperately grateful for donations for those costs). They were not rescued once only to then senselessly lose their lives at the hands of humans again.

For those of you who don?t know, a Wadi Dog is the name given to the native dogs of Oman.
A Wadi is (in certain Arabic-speaking countries) a valley, ravine or channel that is dry except in the rainy season & the native wild dogs take their name from this.
The dogs are thought to originate from Arabian Village Dogs (the oldest known breed) or Salukis -- both breeds which pre-date modern dog breeds and were prevalent in the Middle East.
The Wadi Dogs have a distinctive look (slim build, long legs & tail & big ears) but in reality the term refers to any feral dog in Oman and you can sometimes see where other breeds have mixed in -- Labrador mix and German Shepherd mix being popular.?
As a general rule wadi dogs are very intelligent, faithful, trusting, fast, sofa loving & cheeky -- in every way WONDERFUL!

When a dog is first rescued and comes into our care, they are taken to the vets for an initial health check. Many of the dogs come to us with injuries that need treating first then once in better health, we vaccinate, neuter, microchip, de-worm, & de-flea them. When we have the funds, we get as many dogs as possible titer tested so that they can live abroad!
We have already rescued and re-homed nearly 370 dogs, but we have more than 45 still waiting for their forever homes!
You can see these wonderful pups here.
