Every year, 1 in 100 kiddos are born with congenital heart disease, or CHD. They can range from mild to severe. Some are found during pregnancy, some are found after birth. Nori has three specific CHDs - a heart murmur, Supravalvular Aortic Stenosis - or SVAS, & peripheral pulmonary stenosis. Her defects have been downgraded to mild from severe. However, her Williams Syndrome diagnosis makes these diagnoses a little trickier. Williams Syndrome makes her risk of sudden cardiac death 25 to 100 times greater than the general population. Organizations like the Children?s Heart Foundation exist to help ensure research & treatment is available to help kiddos like Nori live long, healthy lives.
