Right before Christmas 2023, Fishtails Animal Rescue went to ACCT (Philadelphia's open intake shelter) and saved Nutmeg the pig from euthanasia. Our friends at Lancaster Farm Sanctuary offered to take him into their sanctuary if Fishtails was able to rescue him from the shelter and send him to a large animal vet for the required quarantine time. Our team of volunteers met at the shelter on December 23rd, armed with a bag of chips, and convinced Nutmeg to go into a large dog carrier for his drive to the vet. It took some coaxing, but he was very food motivated and we learned that chips were the way to his heart!!
