The Battered Women's Justice Project (BWJP) is dedicated to promoting safety, security, and justice for survivors of gender-based violence, their families, and communities within the civil and criminal legal systems. Founded in 1993 as a part of the Duluth Domestic Abuse Intervention Project (DAIP) under the leadership of Ellen Pence, a pioneer in the domestic violence movement, BWJP strives to create systemic change and support victims of gender-based violence.
