Friends of the Superior National Forest is a nonprofit organization dedicated to volunteer-powered stewardship of the Superior National Forest in northeastern Minnesota. Spanning three million acres and including the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, this landscape offers world-class recreation, rich cultural history, and irreplaceable natural beauty.
In partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, we recruit, train, and support volunteers to maintain trails, restore campsites, and complete critical conservation projects across public lands. We provide the planning, tools, and training so volunteers can focus on making a real and lasting impact.
Through these hands-on efforts, we connect people to meaningful service while helping ensure the Superior National Forest remains healthy, accessible, and protected for generations to come.
