RACR is committed to helping our community gain respect for our natural world and the amazing reptiles and amphibians that live within it. Through reptile and amphibian education, rescue, and conservation advocacy, we strive to make a change in our world, starting with the Northern Colorado community.
Our shelter-based rescue program gives a resource to the often overlooked exotic pet population throughout Colorado by accepting surrendered animals into our care, treating any medical conditions or health concerns, then finding adoptive homes for the animals.
Educating the public about local reptile and amphibian species and their ecological importance can help us preserve our local ecosystem and promote a sustainable future. We provide outreach and educational programs for all audiences to forward this goal.
Supporting our nonprofit through Bonfire will allow us to amplify our impact for native herptiles in Colorado by pursuing the establishment of a public education facility. This space will serve as a rescue center and community hub, providing herptile enthusiasts with a safe space to ask questions, access resources, and actively engage in the captivating world of reptiles and amphibians. Additionally, the new space will serve as an educational destination for schools, providing immersive learning experiences for folks of all ages. The increased space capacity will enable us to rescue more animals in need, furthering RACR's efforts to combat the symptoms of an ever-expanding reptile trade industry.
