Volare

Volare (Formerly the Network for Victim Recovery of DC (NVRDC)) provides free, holistic and trauma-informed advocacy, legal and therapeutic services to survivors/victims of any type of crime in the District of Columbia. This includes sexual assault and domestic violence, and also includes identity theft, homicide, and hate crimes, among others. What makes Volare unique is its guiding philosophy of survivor-defined justice. This philosophy means that Volare's services are not guided by an interpretation of a "right" or "wrong" way to respond after a crime. Instead, Volare empowers its clients to define justice for themselves based on their lived experiences.
