World Bird Sanctuary is a nonprofit organization located in St. Louis, Missouri. Established in 1977, Walter Crawford drew inspiration from his mentor, St. Louis Zoo Director Marlin Perkins, to establish a dedicated sanctuary for birds of prey in St. Louis. Initially tending to injured raptors in his home, the World Bird Sanctuary grew to address critical conservation organization devoted to safeguarding some of the world's most endangered bird species, ensuring their survival for generations to come.
