Out of the Pits is a 501c3 non-profit pit bull rescue located near Albany, NY. OOTP is the oldest pit bull rescue in the US. Our main focus is to educate the public about the true nature of the American Pit Bull Terrier and to showcase the pit bull through therapy dog work, agility, service dogs and family companions to restore them to their former position as America?s favorite dog. For nearly 30 years, we have found loving homes for thousands of dogs and have served as a community resource in education, spay/neuter programs and to help families keep their dogs through behavioral counseling, training, food donations and vet care. Our rescue is operated entirely by volunteers and community support so all profits from this fundraiser go directly to helping our adopt-a-bull dogs. So far this year, we have taken in 194 adults and puppies and have adopted out 174! This accounts for many severe medical cases including - heart worm treatments, parvo puppies, neurological issues, leg amputations, and routine vet care.
