This Giving Tuesday (November 30), we want to gift new beginnings to even more orphan pets, and their journey towards LOVE starts here at the Center! To mark the occasion, we are following four pets that came to us from local rescue partners with some of the most touching stories.

Curtis, a four-year-old Husky blend that came to us from local rescue partners after they discovered he had been shot twice at close range with a high-caliber bullet. At our Companion Animal Hospital, X-rays showed he still has shrapnel in his mouth and neck from the incident.

Nevertheless, Curtis is full of energy and love which was felt by all of our staff members that met him upon arrival. It was clear from that moment that once he was treated for his hip injury, he would find a home in a heartbeat.

Coco, Cookie and Cam were rescued when a good samaritan found these three helpless kittens in a dumpster. They said it was clear that their mom had been attacked, possibly by a coyote, and had not survived. The kittens found temporary care with a local dog rescue that reached out to the Center to help get these kittens to an experienced foster volunteer before we found these kittens a home.

Over the last several weeks, Coco, Cookie and Cam have weaned off their kitten formula and are quickly gaining weight and strength. They are expected to become available for adoption within the next week.
