Rockalina is a rescue Eastern box turtle that now resides with us at Garden State Tortoise after being taken from the wild by her previous owner in 1977 and raised on cat food, fruit, and lettuce, and kept on a kitchen floor. Due to her environment and care, Rockalina has suffered for 48 years developing major skin and eye issues, severe dehydration, and extreme beak and nail over growth. One of the most severe rescue cases we've seen, she also has metabolic bone disease from calcium deficiency that has caused her bones to bend and disfigure in a way where she may never be able to walk properly again.
