In May 2025, my family suffered the tremendous loss of my father-in-law to suicide after a difficult battle with his mental health & depression. He suffered from so much that he held inside - ashamed by or fearful of his thoughts. I myself have dealt with my own intense cycles of depression and suicidal thoughts for decades. Many others I know have struggled with varying degrees of the same thing.

This is why I've decided to partner with To Write Love on Her Arms for the 2027 runDisney Marathon Weekend, where I'll be participating in the Goofy's Race & a Half Challenge. Every dollar I raise will go to support TWLOHA's mission of providing hope and help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicidal thoughts.

I?m running the half marathon for hope; the full marathon for healing. I'm running for TWLOHA and for every single person who they themselves have dealt with feelings of unworthiness, depression, & loss of hope... and for those who have tragically lost someone to the disease of mental illness or addiction.
