E.H. (Howard) Cannon opened the doors to Cannon & Company in 1950. He officially opened his one-person accounting office on the third floor of the Nissen Building in downtown Winston-Salem, NC. His wife Julia was his secretary. She suggested adding the ?company? to the small two-person office because it ?wasn?t the size of the company, but the company that you keep,? and thus began one of the longest-standing companies still in operation? a successful business based on that simple and pure idea.
