When you shop at the Free Hearts Store, you?re doing more than purchasing merchandise, you?re investing in a movement led by formerly incarcerated women and directly impacted families fighting every day to keep families together, end criminalization, and build community power.
Free Hearts is a Tennessee statewide organization led by directly impacted women and families, providing support, education, and advocacy in organizing to reunite loved ones torn apart by incarceration and to strengthen our communities.
We organize across all 95 counties, provide life-changing direct services, restore voting rights, build cooperatives, fight for housing and economic stability, and lead statewide campaigns that have changed laws, policies, and lives. From saving over 2,864 years of incarceration through Participatory Defense to restoring voting rights and supporting thousands of families through direct services, our work is rooted in love, community, and lived experience.
Your purchase makes this work possible.
Proceeds from our store help sustain programs that provide counseling, case management, leadership development, organizing, voter rights restoration, SAFE housing, and community-based alternatives to incarceration. They also help fuel grassroots organizing led by impacted families, our greatest source of power.
When you support our store, you help us:
- Reunite families and reduce the trauma of separation
- Build leadership among incarcerated and formerly incarcerated loved ones
- Fight the criminalization of poverty, race, and survival
- Create real alternatives to incarceration through housing and cooperative development
- Train youth and adults to organize for abolitionist, community-centered solutions
Wearing Free Hearts gear is a statement:
- That we believe in healing over punishment.
- That families belong together.
- That those closest to the problem are closest to the solution, and must be resourced to lead.
Thank you for shopping with purpose, standing with impacted families, and helping us build a future where we are all free.
