The story behind O-P Club Lambs

Looks like your text is -169 character over the limit. Please shorten it to 200 characters or less.

Amelia has been around sheep and helping with day to day care since she was 4 years old, started showing at 5, and was crowned a Peewee showmanship champion at 6. She has exhibited a love and devotion of sheep, the livestock industry, and agriculture from an incredibly young age.

Last November Amelia applied for the RSG Foundation First Flock grant. This grant provides youth who apply the opportunity to be selected for an interview with foundation staff and then be selected by the foundation staff to purchase a breeding ewe sheep or doe goat to start their own flocks.

Amelia aced her application moving to the second round in January when she also aced her interview stating her intentions to breed high quality lambs to sell at a reasonable price point to peers to help keep livestock accessible to local youth while also focusing on her goals to complete all 4-H projects Idaho offers before entering Highschool and joining FFA. She has intentions to also serve as a Council FFA Chapter officer and move onto being an Idaho State officer.

Amelia has selected her first ewe that is a natural ewe from Fisher Club Lambs from Wilder, Idaho. Her goal is to raise enough money to buy a speckled, piebald, or registered Dorset ewe lamb and provide their entire first year expenses on her own, and is completing a 4-H entrepreneurship project in conjunction and has mentorship from her breeder.
